The duty of Christians to impeach Bush and Cheney

9that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,

10and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.

11For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,

12in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

Many Christians fell under the "deluding influence" of false prophets like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, and believed that Bush was "anointed".   Now that the truth has been revealed, some still "take pleasure in wickedness" and continue to support him.

I firmly believe that it is the duty of Christians now to love the truth and reject the deceptions which led them to support Bush and Cheney.  They should "slay him with the breath of our mouths" and denounce him as a man of lawlessness.  He should be impeached and removed from office, along with Cheney.

Since Christians gave him the reins of secular power- the spoils of satan- Christians have a duty to take them away from him.  Only then will God's kingdom of peace, love, justice and righteousness reign on earth.

At long last...

...finally, there is an admission of a point that I made somewhere in one of the many past writings I have posted here.

The evangelical Christians who helped put Bush in power are accessories to his many crimes. They should confess their error and repent.

I couldn't agree more. I'll go you one step further, the preachers who allowed politics and religion to mix at the pulpit should also turn themselves into the authorities for going against the constitution of the United States. By blurring the line that separates politics and religion, they have added to the instability of our country, our institutions, and our world.

Mixing politics and religion is ALWAYS a bad thing. History has born out this truth for millenia. What has happened to this country since the commingling of religion and politics has resulted in the current state of affairs that bring unease to this world.

Thank you for making this admission. I can only hope that others will hear or read your words, and might realize that their actions have brought our world to the point of disaster at which it presently stands...and maybe repent.

Pax vobiscum.

Blessed be!
Pappy

This word must be spread

I've been an opponent of Bush since 2000.  He was clearly a warmonger.  During the 2000 campaign, he pushed for missile defense and abrogating the ABM treaty, which he did shortly after 9-11.   Besides starting a new arms race, it's a boondoggle, a gift to the munitions makers.

I'm a peacemaker, I serve the Prince of Peace, not the god of war.  It's obvious that Bush serves satan, and that the false preachers who put him in power are terrorizing us with threats of a fiery armageddon.  In fact, the battle of armageddon is spiritual, the weapon of the Prince of Peace is the sword coming out of his mouth- (Rev 19:15)- his tongue, the truth, words.

That's why I keep writing stuff like this.

This is disgraceful

Shame on you. Don't even think about trying to lecture other Christians about their political stances. I don't care if this is coming from the left or the right, about a conservative politician or a liberal one. Randall Terry disgraced himself when he spewed, "To vote for Bill Clinton is to sin against God". Jerry Falwell disgraced himself when he told Jim Wallis, "How dare you call yourself an evangelical Christian". Intolerance from either side of the aisle should be condemned.

There are Christians who get involved on all sides of the political spectrum, and there are some who, because of their ideology, stay completely out of politics. These are their personal choices, and I will not base their commitment to Jesus Christ on that choice. Jesus was not a liberal or conservative. He was Jesus. And his ministry transcended politics.
