Why a Liberal Progressive Can AND SHOULD Support Ron Paul

I have worked professionally and as a full time volunteer for the last 25 years for Democrats.  In all that time I have NEVER heard one Democrat say that they would dis-assemble the CIA and US military interventionist empire worldwide.  Not once.  Ron Paul has made that his central plan. If the misery of people worldwide doesn’t move you, the destruction of the US economy may.  If that doesn’t, consider this.  Your civil liberties and human rights are disappearing under your feet everyday.  Mussolini defined Fascism as “the marriage of government and corporations.”   Our entire system and government are bought and paid for by corporations, and our military and intelligence establishment is their body guards.

Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.”

Our nation is bankrupting, and approaching spiritual death my friends.  Ron Paul, again is the ONLY candidate with the exception of Green Party Candidate Cynthia McKinney who is committed to dis-assembling the beast of the CIA / Militarist global empire paid for in our name to ruin people abroad as well as us.  Our wages are driven down by slave labor being available worldwide.

The vast support Ron Paul is getting is because his vision is clear and to the point.  Karl Rove has already begun thinking of ways to derail the Ron Paul revolution.  Attacks will come from both the left and the right.  But Ron Paul’s amassing support will also come from both the left and right and everyone in between.  Because the humanitarian act of ending this beast of interventionist foreign policy, which any true progressive deeply desired, also makes perfect fiscal sense to the clear thinking conservative.

On Sunday, December 24th, 2007, it was as if I was watching that scene from the movie “V for Vendetta,” when the hero commandeered the network TV station to speak the truth to the people.  Ron Paul, a Republican, sat there and stated that America is rapidly approaching a fascist state as liberties are lost and corporate power rules over human rights.  He stated the truth that our problems overseas are because we invade nations and steal their resources.  These are powerful truths that will grow a movement.

So I say to Democrats, to progressives, and to liberals like myself, put aside differences you may have with Ron Paul.  Why?  Because if he is elected those differences you have with him will be moderated by Congress and the Supreme Court.  HOWEVER, what a President, a Commander in Chief, DOES HAVE THE SOLE DISCRETIONARY POWER TO DO WITHOUT CONGRESS'S APPROVAL . . . IS TO END THE AMERICAN MILITARY AND INTELLIGENCE INTERVENTIONIST EMPIRE.

With that one act, we can save our economy, our constitution, and lift the hobnail boot much of the world is kept under in bone crushing poverty and oppression from illegitimate leaders who only remain in power because of the CIA and US military intervention.

We can change the world.  Join the Ron Paul REVOLUTION!  Share this oped and the below videos of Ron Paul speaking truth to power on NBC’s Meet the Press (when you got to youtube, you’ll see to others.  4 videos in all cover the entire historic interview):

Yes, Ron Paul is being lifted by a national outrage

Yes, Ron Paul is being lifted by a national outrage for illegal war, loss of liberty, corrupt corporate media, etc. etc.

Paul is willing to state simple truths though the heavens may fall.

We are all hungry for such truths.  If Ron Paul wins it'll be because people like us carried him into power on our shoulders and with our check books.

An American who cares about 2008 and beyond.
jorietAn American who cares about 2008 and beyond.

Couldn't Agree More! Kudos

We musn't forget the values of past presidents who were both democrat and republican. Ike and JFK seem to come to mind immediately. It's called good old fashion integrity. It seems to be a very rare quality these days amongst presidential candidates and politicians for that matter. When I listen to Dr. Paul, that quality rushes through like a breath of fresh air.

Nice piece, Mr. Douglas

Economists from around the World are Endorsing Dr. Ron Paul.

Academics Join to Endorse Congressman Paul

http://www.happynews.com/news/12242007/academics-join-endorse-congressman-paul.htm

There are also Senators, Representatives, Judges, Writers, Actors, etc Endorsing Dr. Paul. The MSM does NOT even report on any of this for fear people will come to their senses that the USA is in an Economic Crisis and we need somebody that is highly educated in Economics to save our economy.

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/endorsements

Maybe in the future a progressive candidate will be welcomed but at this critical point in our economy we can NOT afford a progressive economy that allows socialist ideas.

Our idea is for Counties or the States to allow socialist ideas for their constituents. That is the most FAIR way to handle something. That way the People can vote on whether they wish to have these socialists Nanny State programs and NOT force people from other states to have to support something they do NOT want.

Of course, if you live in that County or State your Taxes will be much higher than other Counties or States that wish to be more Independent and NOT have a Nanny State.

Remember this, if we do NOT have the IRS and a Federal Income Tax we, as Americans, will have more money that we can Donate to Charities and HELP people more than Our Government could ever do with less waste of our funds.

Also remember that we can Donate more to Charities because we will NO LONGER be Donating the Max allowed by Law in order to put it down to be able to deduct on our taxes. American People are very Generous and will NOT let their People or People throughout the World suffer just because the Government NO LONGER is supporting a NANNY STATE and also sending funds Worldwide.

John McCain was also wrong about the troops as reported by a Soldier in Iraq.

Ron Paul - McLaughlin Group Awards Show - Person of the Year

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys0HgHLpy98

Now that Dr. Paul has been awarded Person of the Year as shown in the video above the MSM will probably be taking him more serious but we do believe the attacks on him will be increasing. A well known reporter has even discovered a possible order for assassination. Problem with that desperate move is it could make the rEVOLution into a REVOLUTION of more than just words.

END TO NANNY STATE MEANS EVEN MORE CORPORATE RULE

"So I say to Democrats, to progressives, and to liberals like myself, put aside differences you may have with Ron Paul.  Why?  Because if he is elected those differences you have with him will be moderated by Congress and the Supreme Court.  HOWEVER, what a President, a Commander in Chief, DOES HAVE THE SOLE DISCRETIONARY POWER TO DO WITHOUT CONGRESS'S APPROVAL . . . IS TO END THE AMERICAN MILITARY AND INTELLIGENCE INTERVENTIONIST EMPIRE."

The President DOES NOT have the sole discretionary power...without Congress's approval...to end the American military and intelligence empire."  Congress has the power to appropriate funds for a military equal to or greater than the present U.S. military and to pass laws MANDATING military interventions in specific countries.  The line item veto was an erosion of the Constitutional powers of Congress that Nixon introduced.

Hence, Ron Paul's proposals to transform America's interventionist policies would be moderated towards the center in the same way that you admit his policies on social security and welfare would be moderated.

As for another commentator who wrote that we would have more money if we did not have to pay taxes to the "nanny state," the lower wages that corporations would be free to pay in their race to the bottom would more than cancel any greater money we would have from reduced taxes.  We would be even less able to afford the greater medical expenses which would result from the corporations being free to let working conditions become more dangerous and the increased toxins with which they would be free to pollute our workplace and environment.

And we would not even have more freedom.  Greater wealth give more influence over the government and, since only the wealthy capitalists would be able to finance the greater campaign expensed resulting from the wealthy's being able to make unlimited campaign contributions, the government we would end up with would be worse than the government we have now.

Your statement is innacurate.

The Commander in Chief alone decides where military is deployed, not Congress.  The Congress would be completely powerless to stop Commander in Chief Ron Paul from bringing the US/CIA militarist empire back from Korea, Japan, Germany, etc. etc.

Your statement below is dead wrong.

<<The President DOES NOT have the sole discretionary power...without Congress's approval...to end the American military and intelligence empire."  Congress has the power to appropriate funds for a military equal to or greater than the present U.S. military and to pass laws MANDATING military interventions in specific countries.  The line item veto was an erosion of the Constitutional powers of Congress that Nixon introduced.

Ron Paul

Ron Paul is just telling everyone what they want to hear. I have no doubt Ron Paul will break his promises if he gets elected.  Ron Paul supports the free trade agenda and Corporate Personhood. Paul wants to eliminate the minimum wage. Ron Paul doesn't give a crap about the people suffering in other countries under dictatorships. Ron Paul says on his own website he opposes Democracy and supports our elitist Republic that established minority rule. You praise Hugo Chavez and other progressive leaders in Latin America and other countries but fail to mention that Ron Paul is against everything these progressive leaders stand for, except Paul's opposition to unconstitutional wars. Hugo Chavez believes in Democracy and Socialism. Ron Paul wants free market corporate capitalism.

Ron Paul Doesn't Agree With Chavez, BUT . . . .

Ron Paul Doesn't Agree With Chavez, BUT . . . . his commitment to drawing back the CIA militarist empire would enable Venezuelans to choose whoever they want, without fear of the CIA destabilizing their democracy.

Listen to the Democrats, they all equate Chavez with evil.  WHY?  They are funded by the military industrial complex.  Ron Paul isn't.

Ron Paul's foriegn policy is the only sane one that isn't sold out to the CIA and military industry.

Nanny state

Socialism has nothing to do with a nanny state. Its the liberal capitalists who support the welfare state to pacify the masses and keep them from rebelling against capitalism. Socialism is about economic democracy and workers control of businesses.

Corporate Welfare is the BIGGEST Program

Why is US oil and nuclear power artifically cheap, thereby holding back a conversion to solar and wind?

CORPORATE WELFARE.

Oil is stolen from poor people worldwide, because the CIA militarist empire murders good leaders and supports the corporate whores (see the movie Syrianna).

Who pays for that military CIA body guard for corporate dictators?  We do.

Who benefits from it?  Oil companies and corporations.

Once President Ron Paul brings the CIA militarist empire back home, oil prices will rise to a fair market price.  Nuclear will rise in cost as corporate welfare is denied that industry.

Wind and solar will become more attractive, and soon America will become a clean free energy state.

It amazes me how my fellow "liberals" are so easily brainwashed by corporate media's phony left/right paradigm, and incapable of thinking outside the box.

It may interest you to know that any media of consequence in America is controlled by the CIA.  Who said that?  William Colby former CIA Director.
