I have worked professionally and as a full time volunteer for the last 25 years for Democrats.  In all that time I have NEVER heard one Democrat say that they would dis-assemble the CIA and US military interventionist empire worldwide.  Not once.  Ron Paul has made that his central plan. If the misery of people worldwide doesn’t move you, the destruction of the US economy may.  If that doesn’t, consider this.  Your civil liberties and human rights are disappearing under your feet everyday.  Mussolini defined Fascism as “the marriage of government and corporations.”   Our entire system and government are bought and paid for by corporations, and our military and intelligence establishment is their body guards.

Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.”

Our nation is bankrupting, and approaching spiritual death my friends.  Ron Paul, again is the ONLY candidate with the exception of Green Party Candidate Cynthia McKinney who is committed to dis-assembling the beast of the CIA / Militarist global empire paid for in our name to ruin people abroad as well as us.  Our wages are driven down by slave labor being available worldwide.

The vast support Ron Paul is getting is because his vision is clear and to the point.  Karl Rove has already begun thinking of ways to derail the Ron Paul revolution.  Attacks will come from both the left and the right.  But Ron Paul’s amassing support will also come from both the left and right and everyone in between.  Because the humanitarian act of ending this beast of interventionist foreign policy, which any true progressive deeply desired, also makes perfect fiscal sense to the clear thinking conservative.

On Sunday, December 24th, 2007, it was as if I was watching that scene from the movie “V for Vendetta,” when the hero commandeered the network TV station to speak the truth to the people.  Ron Paul, a Republican, sat there and stated that America is rapidly approaching a fascist state as liberties are lost and corporate power rules over human rights.  He stated the truth that our problems overseas are because we invade nations and steal their resources.  These are powerful truths that will grow a movement.

So I say to Democrats, to progressives, and to liberals like myself, put aside differences you may have with Ron Paul.  Why?  Because if he is elected those differences you have with him will be moderated by Congress and the Supreme Court.  HOWEVER, what a President, a Commander in Chief, DOES HAVE THE SOLE DISCRETIONARY POWER TO DO WITHOUT CONGRESS'S APPROVAL . . . IS TO END THE AMERICAN MILITARY AND INTELLIGENCE INTERVENTIONIST EMPIRE.

With that one act, we can save our economy, our constitution, and lift the hobnail boot much of the world is kept under in bone crushing poverty and oppression from illegitimate leaders who only remain in power because of the CIA and US military intervention.

We can change the world.  Join the Ron Paul REVOLUTION!  Share this oped and the below videos of Ron Paul speaking truth to power on NBC’s Meet the Press (when you got to youtube, you’ll see to others.  4 videos in all cover the entire historic interview):
