                                   HORATIO
You saw mist swirling about in the moonlight or something.

                                   BARNARDO
                          (to Horatio)
Listen.  Look at me.  You really need to understand.  The
past two nights, just about now--

                                   (Enter GHOST.)

                                   MARCELLUS
            Good god!  There it is!

                                   BARNARDO
            It's our king!

                                   (Horatio looks to Barnardo and
                                   Marcellus, astonished.)

                                   BARNARDO (CONT'D)
                          (to Horatio)
What do you think?  Doesn't that look like the king?

                                   MARCELLUS
            Speak to it Horatio!

                                   HORATIO
Very much like the king.  What is going on?

                                   MARCELLUS
            Ask it something!

                                   HORATIO
                          (to Ghost)
What are you?!  In heaven's name--tell us!

                                   (The Ghost turns to go.)

                                   MARCELLUS
            It's turning to leave--quick!

                                   HORATIO
            Wait!  Stop!  Speak to us!

(The Ghost exits, and the three are
                                   silent for a moment.)

                                   BARNARDO
                          (to Horatio)
Well?  You look a little pale.  Was that just imagination?
