The Spirit of the Antichrist

One should wonder what spirit is driving those that want to bomb another, for just who would Jesus bomb?

Jesus has been hijacked by the right wing fundamentalists and the time has come to set him free. Christ was no Christian, he was a social justice radical revolutionary Palestinian Jewish road warrior who challenged the job security of the temple priests and disturbed the status quo of Rome by teaching such subversive ideas like all people are equal and valuable, to treat people the way one want's to be treated, that one must forgive to be forgiven, one must love their enemies and to always work for peaceful resolutions, even to the point of returning violence with COMPASSION.

Christ dealt compassionatly with sinners and outcasts, but hypocrites received his wrath.
Compassion, which is sorrow for the suffering of others accompanied by the urge to help, is what should define the Christian attitude.

If there is no compassion within a Christian, then it is the spirit of the antichrist that rules.

True

LaHaye and the rest are indeed fearmongers whose Biblical exigesis sounds like something more out of a bad psychedelic experience. The antichrist figure as represented by the number "616" (not 666) actually referred to Nero. What is ironic is that the people who most fear a one-world government under an antichrist-like figure are working so hard to bring about such a government.

Man's World, What a Mess!

The religious right's total lack of comprehension of the doctrine of Christ has isolated them from all that's precious in human life. It is well known that many books of the Bible were left out and only recently have they been re-discovered and studied. It seems to me that when women were pushed out of power in the church, the church began its descent into aggression and fear-mongering. God went from a loving father to a harsh disciplinarian, and people were taught from childhood to fear him. Fear God? What an abomination! God is love, pure love, and our spirits are an inseparable part of his essence. A being that is pure love, is incapable of negative behavior, and has no interest in punishing anyone. Fear is man-made, a device to frighten us into docile behavior. It is only when women are again valued as spiritual leaders, that fear and violence will end on this earth. Men must share their hold on earthly power if they are ever to have peace. If I had to pick one word to describe the cause of the misery in this world, it would be testosterone.
