Scientists have revealed that Yellowstone Park has been on a regular eruption cycle of 600,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago…so the next is overdue. The next eruption could be 2,500 times the size of the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption. Volcanologists have been tracking the movement of magma under the park and have calculated that in parts of Yellowstone the ground has risen over seventy centimeters this century. (Emphasis added.) MUCH MORE William Cormier FOOTNOTE: The reference material herein states that during the past century, the caldera at Yellowstone National Park has raised a total of 70 Centimeters this past century, which equates to 27.5590 inches. When we consider that this “bulge” has risen nine (9) inches in just the past three years - it appears that something is rapidly changing at Yellowstone in relative terms, however I do not have the expertise to determine the actual significance of this event(s), however do realize that it appears to be rising at an unprecedented rate - which was not acknowledged by CNN. In an approximation of the significance of this event, it equates to Yellowstone’s “bulge” having increased almost 33% in the past three (3) years as opposed to it’s gradual bulging over the past century. This has to have a certain amount of significance - although I’m hoping we can get an honest assessment of what this means in real terms as to why it has significantly become more active these past three years.
