"If you thought George Bush was bad when it comes to the use of military force, wait 'til you see John McCain."

McCain has shown he is willing to sell another military escapade with whatever means it may take.
Fortunately for him and his handlers, it will be easier than ever.

Here is what McCain will be given along with the President’s office:

  • Expanded Presidential Powers
  • Expanded Executive Branch under Presidential Control
  • Military Presence, Agenda and Engagement
  • The NeoCon Support System

Expanded Presidential Powers

Testimony of the Honorable Mickey Edwards

A former member of Congress from the State of Oklahoma and The Aspen Institute.

House Judicial Committee Hearing on Presidential Signing Statements under the Bush Administration

“….there is a view of the Presidency articulated by the current

President, which considers the executive branch to be a single

unit under the sole direction of the President, and according to this

theory of the unitary Executive, the legislative branch of Government

may not instruct executive branch agencies in the performance

of their duties…//… The Congress, you all, may require a Federal agency to report on some matter, but at best that requirement simply becomes a suggestion and probably one that will not be taken too seriously….//…any Presidential assertion of the right to ignore the law must be challenged or it will become precedent.

…//…I may not agree with the policies of the next

President. And future Presidents can rely on that unchallenged assertion”

McCain will be presented with the smorgasbord of greatly expanded powers of the President, thanks to the work of many I laid out in my article The Silent Coup – How a nation ruled by law, becomes a nation ruled by men.

McCain and Cheney target Iran

John McCain and Dick Cheney attempt to rally support against Iran

Iam interesting in seeing how those advocating militarized diplomacy and gunning for hearts and minds, will deal with the traditionally pragmatic views of the military community which - necessarily - tend to resist using the military at large for nation building and far flung ideology promotion.
