Still, there are questions being raised about the extraordinary claims the so-called three ex-terrorists have made about their previous lives. Contacted last week, a State Department official said the alleged terrorists would have had to disclose their terrorist ties on their application for citizenship and if they did it "would have most certainly raised red-flags, led to deportation, or arrests." If they lied on their applications and did not disclose their terrorist ties that would be considered a felony and would result in immediate deportation, the state department official.
Tom Quiggin, Canada’s only expert on intelligence and national security issues said Anani is “not an individual who rates the slightest degree of credibility, based on the stories that he has told."
On his website Shoebat.com http://www.shoebat.com/bio.php, Shoebat, which he says is not his real name, was born in 1960, joined the PLO as a young man "and participated in acts of terror and violence against Israel."
At 16, Shoebat said the PLO ordered him to bomb a Jewish-owned bank in Bethlehem with a device he smuggled from Jerusalem inside a loaf of bread. He was supposed to plant it near the bank’s door, but Palestinian children played nearby. He decided to throw it onto the roof of a nearby building instead, where it exploded without harming anyone, he said.
Later that year during a riot in Bethlehem, Shoebat led youths in an attempt to lynch an Israeli solider. Shoebat and a friend beat the solider bloody with clubs before other Israeli soldiers arrived.
He claims he was imprisoned in the Russian Compound, Jerusalem's central prison for incitement and violence against Israel. Officials at the Israeli consulate said they did not have immediate comment on Shoebat's or his colleague’s allegations. Shoebat says he discovered Christianity when he was 18-years-old when he arrived in the US.
Warthen said the United States Air Force Academy's Dean of Faculty Brigadier General Dana Born, a born again Christian with close ties to fundamentalist, "vetted, screened and did a background check on the terrorists and as far we know they are who they say they are and what they said they did as terrorists is true."
In December 2006, Shoebat, was one of the keynote speakers at LaHaye's Pretribulation Conference where he spoke about Bible prophecy doctrines and the "Israeli/Islamic conflict in the Middle East." He has also been the featured speaker at numerous Jewish organizations.
Saleem, who has been employed by Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network and was featured in a story posted on CBN's website "Former Muslims Share Christ" was ordained a minister eight years ago. He says on his website Koome ministries http://koomeministries.com/saleem.htm that he was recruited by the Muslim Brotherhood when he was 6-years-old, and was then tapped by the PLO when he was 7-years-old and attended "assault camp" where as a trained terrorist he said he fought against Christians in Lebanon, Russians in Afghanistan, Jews in Israel.
In 1985, Saleem's world "turned upside down when he was seriously injured in an automobile accident."
"A Christian man tended to Kamal at the accident scene, making sure he got the medical treatment he needed. Kamal's orthopedic surgeon and physical therapist were also Christian men whom over a period of several months ministered the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to him as he recovered. The love and sacrificial giving of these men caused Kamal to cry out to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob acknowledging his need for the Savior. Kamal has since become a man on a new mission, as an ambassador for the one true and living God, the great I Am, Jehovah God of the Bible," his website states, adding that he is well informed about the true culture and agenda of Islam, which he claims is to launch widespread jihads across the US and Israel.
