"Did you know that 15% of the American population feelings towards Jews can be labeled as anti-Semitic? But does that become a big deal? No! Does it ever make the news? NOOO! No one cares. And that's why the crimes keep increasing." Rachael exclaimed.
"I think it's 50% for Muslims" I whispered softly, looking down.
"At the community forum, President Fuhrman said they've decided to hire more people of color to TC."
"What about people of different religious backgrounds?" Rachael questioned, "How about hiring them? People with different viewpoints. They allowed President Ahmedinejad to speak here."
"Islamofascism week didn't get half as much press as the Ahmedinejad visit." For the first time, I received some attention:
"Islam-o-who?" both of them asked, dumbfounded.
"Well, Rachael, let's agree a lot of work still needs to be done." Titilayo smilingly said.
"Yes, and until we don't have a uniform reaction to all the different sorts of injustices against all people, we will always face this sort of hatred." Rachael replied.
I nodded enthusiastically. We were all finally on the same page.
"Well we have to get to class now." Titilayo said, standing up.
Rachael patted me on the shoulder and said, "Arshi, you don't know how lucky you are that you don't need to deal with any of this."
