"Big media" is still big, and it is still able to influence elections. It is also big enough to straddle a volcano. Big media has been straddling "Mount America" for untold numbers of decades - but then, that volcano was dormant. Many thought it had died.
Well, looks like 'the many' were wrong.
I was going to tell you to "go to ABC.com to see the drama unfold" - but checking the site myself, I see that ABC.com has now taken ALL comments off the page, save for one that says:
One man with courage makes a majority." -- Andrew Jackson

They are cowards, shivering behind the citadel walls. Ene, Mene, TEKEL! The walls of Belshazzar's fortress are coming down. The partying nobles have overstayed their welcome. It's the end of the media networks' opinion empire. The volcano's crust is quivering and jets of steam and ash are shooting up from the ground. The already audible rumble comes from deep, deep down, below.
Take cover, corporate media!
Here is just one more thought about who speaks the truth between the media networks (as represented by ABC at this point) and Paul supporters: Normally, you find both pros and cons in comment sections on any particular topic. These comments were completely one-sided. All of them attacked ABC.com. None defended its stance.
Are we to presume that ABC deleted all comments that were actually backing it up? Or is there simply no one left to defend them?
Maybe that's a question they should ask themselves.
