A Buddhist will try to have as much compassion for the torturers of humanity, as he has for their dying and maimed victims and their grieving families.

Compassion for deranged and dehumanized investment bankers who calmly make the arrangements, plan and prepare the wars.

Compassion for the military knowingly committing crimes against humanity.

Compassion for the politicians amorally rationalizing the war crimes they sign on to.

Compassion for media professionals, who put discernment, conscience and curiosity aside and report only what is acceptable for their CEOs and the Pentagon, misrepresenting the wars as good and the killing as necessary.

Compassion for us suckers at the bottom, who work for and go along with what we are told by those above us.

Compassion for the soldiers, who do the killing overseas and fight depression at home.

Compassion, for all Americans, for they know not what they do, or support, or go along with. Compassion for ourselves, our ignorance, indifference and involvement.

Americans might have to look to salvation eventually coming from the non-American ninety-five percent of Earthlings who are beginning to perceive our pathetic helplessness from vantage points outside the home of the American empire. They are aware of what we have been doing to them and what we are doing to ourselves. We are not.

But even with all embracing compassion in mind... with the massacres, how does one enjoy living among Americans?
