All it takes is for Americans to remove the mental straight jacket that they have allowed the media to create in their minds. An expansion of our understanding of the possibilities of Socialism would mean that the United States could also enjoy the quality of life that other more socialist countries enjoy.

A major economic structural change in the United States would also likely mean the end to Empire and the Military Industrial Complex. By choosing Socialism, Americans would be telling its power structure that it is no longer the goal for a few to get fantastically rich by spreading human misery in a perpetual war economy. Rather, the goal would be for the mass of Americans to benefit by using technology and resources for the betterment of people.

America has been choosing guns and not butter and people all over the world have suffered mightily because of it. It is time now for Americans to choose a more humane, people friendly economy so that people all over the world might also benefit.
