Pity the Teabaggers, it's going to take them YEARS to get where we are now.

It does not matter how this came to be, in the fictional land of the free. It just is. It Is, What It Is.

Move along, there is nothing left to see here. Go FORWARD. No peeking over your shoulder. Lest you suffer the fate of Lot's Wife.

Take your citizenship, your life and your soul, crumple it into a tight ball and shove it with a stick down the memory hole. Then forget about it. Do what they tell you, when you're told. Work when they'll let you and spend your earnings back to them. It really does belong to them now.

Me? I'm growing my own food, and tending my chickens. I'm adding some small goats, and thinking about a pair of pigs. I'm securing an aquifer well. I'm turning off C-Span, and PBS and NPR. I'm turning my back on my entire belief system. That one person can make a difference. Hell, that 600,000 people can make a dent at all.

I'm saving the rain, and nurturing fruit trees.  I'm learning what I need to. I'm learning to do without cheap Chinese crap. To live without the American Dream.

Ashes, ashes, the taste of ashes.

Except when I pluck a fresh strawberry from the garden and eat it, dirt and all.

Find a Transitional Town near you. Talk to your nearest neighbors, then talk to the neighbors across the street.  Gather your family as close as you can, and grow your friendships with care. You're going to need them.

Faith Carr is a 57 year old, retired political activist. Started farming so we can continue to eat as the economic realities set in. When the revolution starts I'll bring the eats.
