Our leaders say, "not to worry" we aren't going to run out of money, this nation won't default. But do they think that their money printing presses can run nonstop, that China and Japan are absolutely committed to a never-ending financing of America; that as this nation's economic stability continues to deteriorate that investors will keep buying government securities? America has been shaken by a terrible housing crisis and multi-millions of home foreclosures; but that will be nothing compared to the inevitable foreclosure of our financial system if this government doesn't come to its senses, and soon.
The very idea that funding of wars should take precedence over our children's education is repulsive; that war has a higher priority than job creation or safeguarding important social programs for Americans is ludicrous. Yet that is exactly what is happening. Somehow we as a society must find a way to remove the passive acceptance of war from the American psyche so that the people will resist it, renounce it and totally disassociate themselves from its barbarity.
