Sean Hannity has explained on the air that the money borrowed from future generations of Americans by Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush to fund military operations and space-age missile defense systems (that don't work) were vitally necessary to defeat communism and to combat terror in a post-9/11 world. Hannity says we could not have taken the chance that the terrorists would have defeated us, no matter how much it cost. Okay...only problem is, Bush's cabinet and staff members (Lt. Wilkerson, George Tenet and Scott McClellan) have already admitted the Iraq War was a hoax perpetrated on the American people which made a lot of privatized contractors bountifully wealthy.

Buying a bill of goods

If "astroturf" is a word used for faked grassroots movements, what does it say that Bolin's teabag merch shop has paid for ads on DrudgeReport.com, Hannity.com, and NewsMax.com? Is that a real spontaneous community uprising or opportunist investors buying "messaging" time and renting web lists looking for fools willing to wear hats or shirts that call Obama a Marxist or Maoist.

Maybe it's a grassroots movement given a "little push" by the #1 news network on TV, Fox News, and #1 talk radio host Sean Hannity. So the seeds were planted by multimillionaires with defense lobby ties, drooling for upper-income tax cuts who need a few "boots on the ground", but if you build it, they will come.

Bad spellers of the world - untie!

The videos of teabag events have been hilarious - one called for pulling kids out of college and banning books. One classic sign said "Use your brain, don't be a moran". Are these protesters equipped to debate policy? I'd like to see. Many are truly confused, believing that borrowing for war is any better than borrowing for infrastructure or conversion to sustainable energy.

Ignoring the rock-ribbed Conservative hero of WWII

I always remind Conservatives that it was Eisenhower who revealed the halls of power in DC were infiltrated by military-industrial stooges, looking to start wars overseas to keep the bomb business going. Ike warned the USA that we need to spend our money on roads, bridges and schools, ever vigilant of those among us who want to fake wars for profit.

I like Ike

Real Conservatism is about fiscal responsibility, small government and strict ethics. Yet Hannity still carries water for George W. Bush, a fiscally irresponsible, ethical disaster from day one. Neither he nor Hannity nor Limbaugh have yet responded to 35 separate charges of criminality filed by Congress (still under the media rug).

Conservatism shouldn't be about borrowing from our kids to fight wars, it should be about winning over the world by being an example of proper moral behavior, paying our bills and keeping taxes low by having all Americans pitch in to help with their time, money or smarts.

I don't agree with Obama's bail out of banks and large investment firms, but if you've been following this, it means he'd have squandered the original bailouts handed over by Bush who tied Obama's hands. Did he have a choice?

The future was not cancelled, it's still coming

We must invest in alternative fuels before the Asians and Europeans get the jump on us. We have to update our transportation and buildings, these things will save money. We have to look around the globe and see what's working in other places, greening roofs, localizing food and more. Cost savings are the answers domestically but internationally, we have to start producing goods and services again. Our healthcare is easy to fix because it's already socialized, just with a middleman corporation picking the pool you and your family are in instead of the bleeding heart liberal government. But even if you hate immigrants, it's still cheaper to run free clinics than emergency rooms...sorry, it just is. Money talks, bottom line.

Let the people speak, yes!

One last hint to Republicans - real "grassroots" political movements make their own signs and slogans, they don't have to buy them from privatize commercial merchandisers. If you're sure you want to march against the middle class tax cut in favor of the Bush cuts for the rich, wearing a dollar-store souvenir on your head, it's a free country.
