We also can only love our neighbor as our selves by co-opting in doing for them what we would have done for ourselves. Only in this way do we become connected.
There is no better opportunity to demonstrate a willingness to become connected than by supporting universal health care for God's creations in the United States.
Those who resist adopting a plan to ensure universal health coverage are doing so for ulterior motives. Motives of protecting corporate profits by restricting and rationing health care. Loving God and one's neighbor as first requisites requires that man-made entities (corporations] fall by the wayside in favor of God and neighbor.
I believe it is fair to say that any member of the Congress whether Christian or Jew who votes against universal Health Care for America is in violation of the greatest Commandment of God.
We may not appreciate all the small or hidden provisions of the present Bill but as the Congress is a living breathing organ of government, provisions that are unconstitutional or just plain wrong can and should be changed in favor of the little people.
I for one think that this might be an opportunity for the Congress to take initial steps to grant some real democracy for America by referring the issue to the people by referendum. All they need do is pass a resolution referring it to the people with provisions for a vote process but at the same time making it a federal crime to promote any false facts as truth in any public debate that will precede such a vote. The Congress would then be bound to enact legislation conforming to the vote. Any interference by non human interests [Corporations] would be illegal.
One thing for certain is that within the next twenty to sixty years most every adult voter in America living at this moment will be earth dead with consciousness existing in the FIELD where they may or may not be love connected with the Cosmos. We need to face it. It is a reality we cannot escape. From that vantage point what would we prefer to be aware of; greed and denial or universal care for those whose consciousness we are aware of?
