The second aspect of this "NAA" Re-Legalization plank is that it serves as "gatekeeper" function.  It does this in three ways.  One, since the user no longer has to go to a "dealer" the user is no longer going to someone who sells much harder drugs (heroin, cocaine etc.).  Two, since they will be smoking high quality Marijuana there is less likelihood that they will even crave the harder drugs.  And third, Marijuana is one of the most benign psychoactive drugs in existance.

To better understand the "Re-Legalization" plank,  of the "New Agenda for America," I would recommend the following:

Now I actually have been endorsed, as a write-in candidate for President, by the US Marijuana Party in 2008.  That is probably worth about a thousand votes, far short of the 40 million I would need.   So obviously that is not happening.

I am currently writing a book to promote the ideas contained in the "New Agenda for America" and plan to do a book tour.  I am also thinking of forming a loosely defined "Freedom Party" which will hopefully challenge all Corporate leanings of the next president that will be either Obama or McCain.  My hope is to contain them until 2012 when I might actually have a real chance to steer this country in a different, and hopefully better, direction.

Yours in Freedom,

Bruce W. Cain

Once again, here are the primary planks of the New Agenda for America
