By now everyone can see pretty clearly why Ms. Kennedy's appointment is practically a mere formality.  Duh!  Caroline Kennedy is famous and fabulously rich, she knows tons of neat celebrities, and she is untainted by even the slightest whiff of previous experience in elected or appointive office.

Come on! Governor Paterson, what are you waiting for?
