That is what a government is in its essence, that gang of bodyguards who will use force to protect the privileges of the elite. Were there not an unfair division of resources in the group, then the need for a group of bodyguards would not exist.
Note in this story that the maintenance of this obviously unfair division of resources depends upon the ability of the few to maintain a state of terror over the vast majority. If a sizable number of the majority decides that they don't care if some of them are hurt or even killed in the process of overwhelming the few bodyguards in the room, then what can stop the majority from prevailing eventually?
