When you lean far back and look up, you can see the earth like a beautiful, fragile Christmas tree ornament hanging against the blackness of space. It's as if you could reach out and hold it in your hand. That's a feeling, a perception, I had never anticipated. And I don't think it's blasphemous for me to say I felt I was seeing the earth with the eyes of God. I believe, looking back on it now, the good Lord did have His hand in it. For me to travel such a roundabout way, and finally end up in the space program, and then go to the moon--it's amazing it ever happened.

This same experience is immanent in many spiritual journey's including Martin Luther King's journey to the mountain top where he saw the little black boy and little white girl united as one as well as the author's own journey in a dream above the Earth with a Woman-Goddess and viewing the wholeness of the planet. This same experience was probably also a part of Moses' awakening at the summit of Sinai.

The importance of this is that the evolution of a baby or a planet operates from the inside out where each part has significance in relationship to the transcendent whole. What we have in the extremity of Adam's rule (i.e., corporations, government, etc) is simply a monstrosity that goes against what Darwin calls the "overseeing eye" of Nature in guiding an ecosystem's evolution. We have turned ourselves into the misfits, terrorists, and destroyers of Earth. Will we push Gaia to deal with us as a disease or alien organism?

It is interesting if you think about Mother Nature, with Nature having two meanings, the external environment and essence. Perhaps what we see externally is our Self? As the Hindu Upanishad says:

It is above, it is below, it is, indeed, this entire world. And when one knows this one knows bliss in the self and in all worlds are free.

Could it be our angst is ultimately driven by our alienation in a world commanded by the corporations who foster the divide and conquer mentality? Can you see the purpose of having basically two news shows....let's say Fox and CNN going at it in order to keep us divided through entertaining theatrics produced by airing drama shows.

In reality, as Obama has proven, left and right, conservative and liberal, are socketed to the armpits of one almighty corporate overlord.

" Divide and conquer" is their motto. Thus it is extremely important to get beyond the divide and conquer mentality and begin "transcending" the world in order to see it's wholeness. Transcending is not about denial...it is about seeing it from a bird's eye view.....or if you rather, the angelic realm or dimension of experience. Until we see ourselves as an integral part of the Earthen family of life, we will continue to be ruled by deceitful, manipulative, and self-serving imposters, the "Powers-that-Be".

What has made this world so dangerous is that our divisive, dualism and externalized mindset goes against the way Nature operates. As the fertilized egg implies, life unfolds from the inside out in relation to the external and is NOT commanded by any external man. Adam's being ruler over Eve is a centuries old lie that has major implications for how we are living in our world today.

Again, it needs to be realized that Adam is not just a man, nor is Eve just a woman....rather, Adam is the externalized Psyche that wishes to control the internal evolution of humanity and all of Nature. This is exemplified by Monsanto's desire to control the genes of various plants that are grown for food. That same mentality is responsible for the continuous warfare we have today, the pollution of the planet and the increasing rates of extinction of various species on the planet.

To see the rate of extinction graphically, visit http://www.whole-systems.org/extinctions.html since I was not able to upload.

The conclusions of the above website regarding extinction rates are:
  • 1. Edward Wilson estimates 27,000 species are currently lost per year. By 2022, 22% of all species will be extinct if no action is taken.
  • 2.  Niles Eldridge estimates 30,000 per year currently
  • 3.  Georgina M. Mace using a different methodology based on extrapolations from the current lists of endangered species arrives at a figure of 14-22% loss of species and subspecies over the next 100 years.
  • 4. Paul Ehrlich, using another approach based on total energy use estimates extinction rates at 7,000 to 13,000 times the background rate, (70,000 to 130,000 species per year) which he says is higher than figures based on data for higher orders of animal indicates, but we have little data on insects and micro flora and fauna.
  • Mull this information over for a while. Are we also going to be a dot on the face of this horror? Will we become ghosts sailing over a wasteland? Or will we awaken and reclaim our right to the fruits of the Garden of Life with its rich diversity of living beings comprising soils, animals, plants, waters, and atmosphere?

Perhaps the first step is to realize that the "dead universe/planet" we see is a reflection of our own cognition. In that sense, there will be no externally resurrected God descending out of Heaven. Rather, that living God will emerge from the depths of your Soul, Heave or Eve, and will rule with an intense love for all creatures and not the sword of domination.
