(BTW, the idea of abolishing slavery in the South, which was already
part of the Union, was not anything Lincoln contemplated doing.
He thought, indeed, that any such move would be unconstitutional.)

Now with health care, and with the Obama presidency generally, the same
con goes on. Fight the enemy we tell you to fight, the con
artists at the top of their power structure declare, to defend all
that's honorable and sacred. This the manipulators declare,
knowing full well it is just their own privilege and power and wealth
that they are seeking to protect, knowing full well they are conning
their supposed "allies" into hurting themselves. Beat Obama, and
you can continue to go uninsured, can continue to worry that a health
problem may bankrupt you, can continue to pay twice as much for health
care as people in other major nations.

The old patterns --the con artists at the top of the hierarchy, the
average white people trained to buy the con-- persist. The
people, and the nation, suffer.
