*  As Libra time begins this year, we experience the equinox, when day and night have equal duration. On this powerful and meaningful day, take a moment to honor the equinox by seeking the beautifully still, balanced point within yourself. Look ahead to longer nights and renewed opportunity for quieting your life and looking inward to address your spiritual life.
*  September 29 (or 30, depending on your location) brings a full Moon in Aries, giving us illumination and inspiration around Aries's themes of identity, self, leadership, and boldness.
*  Also on September 29, the Sun reaches the same degree in Libra that Uranus occupies in Aries and Pluto occupies in Pluto. This movement will create a difficult formation called a t-square and trigger the intense energies and enforced change associated with the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square. The square became exact for the second time-- out of seven times from 2012 through early 2015--on September 19. On October 7, the Moon will trigger this energy again when it reaches the early degrees of Cancer.
*  The first week of October brings several planetary shifts that will add yet more pressure for change:

.     October 3, Venus leaves Libra, one of its home signs, for Scorpio, where it brings opportunities to notice how we experience intensity, transformation, and passion in relationships. This shift also will bring a desire (Venus) for depth (Scorpio) and an attraction (Venus) to life's mysteries (Scorpio).
.     October 4, Jupiter turns retrograde in Gemini and remains so until the end of January 2013. This change offers opportunities to rethink (retrograde) our beliefs and philosophy (Jupiter) regarding communication, thought, and commerce (Gemini).
.     October 5, both Mercury and Saturn leave Libra for Scorpio, bringing even greater focus to Scorpio's themes of birth, death, and regeneration and the need for transformation in our thoughts (Mercury) and physical reality (Saturn). This time also gives us opportunities to review how well we handled Saturn's time in Libra and how our relationships, values, and approach to beauty and attractiveness have become more mature, sober, and responsible.
.     October 7, Mars leaves Scorpio for Sagittarius, bringing high energy, drive, and self-focus to the Archer's themes of philosophy, higher justice, nobility, and generosity.
.     All this emphasis on Scorpio gains even greater power because the North Node, a point associated with our collective destiny and drive toward spiritual progress, entered Scorpio at the end of August. It remains there until February 14, pushing all of us to take seriously Scorpio's themes of the soul, power, necessary destruction to permit rebirth, and spiritual resurrection. In addition, with Saturn's move into Scorpio, the planets Saturn and Pluto will occupy each other's signs (called "mutual reception") until autumn 2015. This relationship increases these planets' already considerable powers and will push us to express spiritual maturity (Saturn in Scorpio) and responsible use of power (Pluto in Capricorn). Although these energies can bring tremendous challenges, these planets' placement in a sextile relationship means they sit in subtle harmony that brings plenty of opportunities (sextile) to use them constructively.

*  October 15 brings a new Moon in Libra, allowing us to set new intentions in relationships, the arts, diplomacy, love, pleasure, and all other Libra themes.

How can I live peace?

During this Libra time, we feel powerful impulses to strengthen relationships and honor our need for justice.

Each astrological sign is associated with a phrase, and for Libra that phrase is "I balance." This energy may be expressed negatively via indecision, inability or refusal to take a stand, or preserving poor relationships at all costs. At its best, though, Libra inspires us to find our center so we can honor both self and other in creative ways and balance all other apparent opposites in life:

Imagine that you are peace. You exist as a precious quality of divinity, always available to uplift humanity. By virtue of their souls, human beings can sense you, and with effort and pure intentions they can come to know you as a true part of themselves. You cannot be created, and you cannot be destroyed. You exist, waiting to be recognized, embraced, and known. The paths toward you are many, yet the most successful are those of moderation, balance, and temperance. Through the discipline of balance, humanity grows able to recognize you; the wise will see your beauty and cherish your value. Always, you sing sweetly, offering the soul's song of longing for its dearest love, its ultimate relationship, and its true rest.

Now is the time to seek your peace. You already have gifts of an inner self and a natural attraction to spiritual mysteries that allow you to succeed. Along the way, you will face challenges tempting you to fall back into strife, division, and fear. If you will take up the task of living peace, you will come to understand why Libra's ruler, the beautiful Venus who stirs our hearts to connect with others, was named for the ancient goddess of love.
