It was learned that Schwarzenegger had been involved in a secret meeting with Lay that also included his close ally Richard Riordan and former junk bond king Michael Milken. When Schwarzenegger was asked about this meeting his only excuse was amnesia, declaring that he attended many meetings and could not be expected to remember them all.
One would think that, considering the individuals involved and their impact on the state that the former actor-bodybuilder would ultimately seek to lead, that this was a meeting that he could recall.
How little this issue has been discussed, the impact of Enron on the decision of important corporate powers to wrest the governorship from Gray Davis and place it in Schwarzenegger's hands. What short shrift the main body of the corporate media provided during the recall campaign, a virtual free ride for the cinema's Terminator.
This topic will be further explored in my next article on the Schwarzenegger "people's uprising" and the bogus effort to portray him as a reformer.
