A word of caution though, Mr. Sowell, you may want to at least research who your new found friends hang out with before you pursue this new relationship further:

"The AIP is clearly a secessionist movement. It had delegates both at the First North American Secession Convention in 2006, but also at the Second North American Secession Convention in 2007 alongside fellow members the League of the South (the most prominent neo-Confederate organization and an SPLC-designated "hate group"); the Republic of Texas (a militia/Patriot group whose members at one time engaged in an armed standoff with Texas law enforcement); and Christian Exodus (which advocates creating an all-white homeland, either in South Carolina or in Idaho, depending on who's in charge). You can also find links to these groups at AIP's links page."

It may be hard at first to try to fit in, Mr. Sowell. You will, of course, have to revise any long held beliefs in scientific fact to fit the acceptable fiction and it will be hard to explain away Rand Paul, even to yourself. You may even have to apologize for him at times, but it can be done as necessary, others have managed same quite well. Poor Persecuted Paul, after recently saying he has the Constitutional right to deny service to you, he is now telling us all how he would have simply pardoned himself if caught up by a major governmental scandalous wrong doing. Perhaps a nice column on your part explaining how Obama telling BP they will act responsibly and quickly is more a threat to our freedom than a politician who is unafraid to declare himself above the law and those he represents will sweep this right under the rug as well:

"Weighing in on Fletcher's predicament, Paul wrote, "What would I do if I were governor? First, I'd have pardoned myself and everyone included nearly a year ago. Without a pardon the case goes on and on."

The fight against tyranny is a hard job, Thomas, the job is hard. You need to be prepared to fight the good fight. You may have to borrow an old leftover Palin rally 'Curious George' teeshirt to show you are not racist against the black man now in office or white folks in general. With your now being in such good standing with fellow Patriot, Sarah Palin, she may send you one for all your recent support or put a call out on Twitter to round one up for you. If not, I am sure you can pick one up from your local tea party vendor for $19.99, no tax included.

It will pay for you to learn the proper use of three G's when filling in your race on forms in order to be fully accepted by the entire tea party. You will have to decide your own personal comfort zone when determining just how close you want to stand next to racist signs. If necessary, you can whiten your own face Joker style so as to better blend in with that great sea of white compatriots at the next GOP or tea party convention. It may even be prudent to do so should you ever attend one of Rand Paul's more militant rallies in Westpoint, Kentucky. It's hard to be a Patriot because even though you may be ready for the tough job of tearing apart the United States of America, you still have to pass tea party purity tests. No one ever said true patriotism was easy.

Of course, if you want their approval badly enough, you could continue to write the dime store novel political trash and slander they so crave and the GOP now needs:

"Last night on the House floor, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) read approvingly from a column by conservative thinker Thomas Sowell comparing President Obama to Hitler in part because of his handling of BP. Gohmert described Sowell as "brilliant," adding, "I didn't vote for Barack Obama in 2008, but I sure would have voted for Thomas Sowell."

When do we get to view the sure to be upcoming GOP video comparing (tastefully, of course) Obama to Hitler and will you be giving us your own critique of same? Were the old Republican Osama Bin Laden comparisons to the President of the United States not working so well lately that you had to haul Hitler out of the attic? After far too many election cycles of the GOP pushing division, is gay fear simply too passe and black hate not PC enough anymore? I'll admit the use of the rabid racist, Westbrook Pegler, in the acceptance speech of Sarah Palin was quite a coup for your friends, although a bit over the head of most folks other than the old school extremist militants who immediately rallied to Palin's call and created even more militia groups, some of which would make even Hitler proud. So what's next? What else might be an effective tutorial of fear for your less well read readership? That President Obama is not American?

How will you further manipulate fear into what you think will generate voter turn out for the hard far right? Running out of ideas to the point you been reduced to simply running up the ol' Hitler Hitler Danger Danger flag? Has Karl Rove, who polished and perfected the use of fear to the level of an art form in order to win elections, finally run out of fresh hateful ideas? Are you so furiously scraping the bottom of the fear barrel that you've forgotten how many in corporate America aided and abetted Hitler during the lead up to WW2, almost costing us the war, including Prescott Bush who was fined by the U.S. Government for his own involvement in money laundering for Hitler. Or, do you simply understand that those who fall for your present day Hitler allegations against President Obama have no interest in actual history? Would the small censure titled Vesting Order Number 248 against Prescott Bush for aiding and abetting the enemy now be considered having a boot heel up against the throat of corporate?

It's time for a new gig, Thomas, and you better come up with one quick if you wish to stay in the good graces of Sarah Palin. The Hitler word doesn't inspire the same fear it used to because of overuse and abuse, as have the words Stalin, Marxist, Socialist, Communist and the word Liberal. Mushroom clouds? Nope, we've been there, lived that under Bush, Jr. Even the soccer moms figured that one out after awhile. The ever favorite Obama is the Anti-Christ rant? Now that was a first rate early propaganda production, something for you to aspire to and Saint Sarah would be so proud to have merited a sequel. You could dust off the old GOP sponsored video that portrays President Obama as the The One.

You would have to update your commentary, of course, but that should be no problem for you as, according to the GOP, the BP oil spill is simply an act of God having nothing to do with corporate and/or political negligence. I'm sure there's an angle there somewhere for you. God's displeasure with the anti-Christ Obama shown by His heavenly destruction of the entire Gulf Coast. With a little journalistic license, I'm sure you could work in God's displeasure over gays as well. I know a goodly number of political evangelicals who would be more than happy to back you up and Saint Sarah would be just tickled pink. Why not give that fear based storyline a shot? It worked well for the McCain/Palin campaign in shoring up the extremist evangelical vote and I'm sure you can work those same folks again and again:
