Single-payer does not put a bureaucrat between you and your doctor!  Single-payer is not a "government run health care delivery system"-; it is a mechanism for providing the funding for all Americans to receive health care coverage at reasonable cost.  Single-payer is not "socialized medicine"- in the sense that the government owns and controls the health care delivery system, the present delivery system remains in place.

Single-payer, not for profit, universal health care has been excluded from the debate by the President and many members of Congress in both Houses.  What are our political leaders afraid of?  Afraid to lose contributions from the health care industry?  Afraid to even allow consideration of a plan that is supported by more than 65% of their constituents and over 70% of physicians?  Afraid of a plan that has been delivering effective and comprehensive health care services to the elderly for a number of decades "" MEDICARE.  Afraid that single-payer is indeed the best approach to providing health care coverage?

The insurance and pharmaceutical companies will take a hit to their bottom line.  However, providing health care coverage to all Americans is a far more important consideration than placating the profit-driven insurance companies.

Medicare for all needs to be included in the health care debate.  Tell your Senators and Representative that you want a full vetting of a single-payer health care plan.  Tell them you want the highly respected Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to evaluate the plan.
