We want every American to be the best he or she chooses to be. We recognize that we are all individuals. We love and revere our founding documents, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. We believe that the preamble to the Constitution contains an inarguable truth that we are all endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness. Those of you watching at home may wonder why this is being applauded. We conservatives think all three are under assault. Thank you. Thank you.
Limbaugh was also there, at the 2009 CPAC, to accept CPAC's 2009 award for "Defender of the Constitution". Is that not hillarious, or what? At one of the biggest, most prestigious conservative events that takes place in America, Rush Limbaugh demonstrates his total ignorance of America's founding documents. Those words are, of course, from the Declaration of Independence.
In Boehner's case, his ignorance of the Constitution is even scarier. He had Limbaugh's CPAC "ignorance of the founding documents" demonstration to learn from. He learnethed not.
In a press statement, after the 2010 midterms, while holding and waving a copy of the Constitution, Boehner, amazingly, said this . . .
This is my copy of the Constitution. I stand here with our Founding Fathers, who wrote in the pre-amble: 'We hold these truths to be self evident ..."
Oops!
I don't think that either one of these men has read a single Federalist Paper. If they have, then they know that the Founding Fathers would think that their interpretation of the Constitution is pure idiocy, and that it is they, the Limbaughs, and the Boehners of this world, that are the "perverts perverting the Constitution".
