U-6 the formula that was used to compute unemployment statistics until 1995 stands at 16.4 percent nationally and in California it is at 25 percent the same rate as in 1933. Durable goods manufacturing is at the lowest level since 1950. Manufacturing payrolls are at their lowest levels since 1946 Employee financial activities are at the lowest level on record since World War II.
