A pharmacy, damaged but still functioning
The Bank of Nova Scotia, Scotiabank, was one of the few banks left halfway intact. Port-au-Prince is or was home to many of the international banking conglomerates such as Citibank and Bank of America gracing, or should I say, cursing the planet.

Checking the wares
You will see thousands of young men on motor scooters in the city.
We are beginning to see the remnants of the great Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Port-au-Prince. The cathedral was badly damaged by the earthquake.
A closer look at the great central nave of the cathedral. That the entire edifice didn't collapse is a tribute to Gothic architecture.
Going all the way around to the other side, here is the facade of the cathedral.
