People are now reasonably knowledgeable about the dangers of global warming and are on the cusp of understanding the global shortage of potable water.   But how many realize that shortages of food is on the horizon?   Without citizen awareness and a Congress and President captive of agribusiness there seems to be almost no progress in transforming the agricultural sector to one less dependent on oil.   President Obama is too clever to admonish the public "to let them eat cakes" but his actions and those of Congress imply it.
