Every single day, the increasing buildup of greenhouse gasses in our planetary atmosphere causes the retention of vast amounts of solar energy which, in their absence would have been radiated out to space. How much additional energy per day? Climatologist James Hansen describes it as being "The equivalent to exploding 400,000 Hiroshima bombs per day, 365 days per year." (6) In other words, ONE HUNDERD AND FORTY SIX MILLION HIROSHIMA BOMBS PER YEAR! Oppenheimer quailed before the effects of ONE Hiroshima bomb. How about ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY SIX MILLION. PER YEAR?
This volume of trapped heat is increasing non-linearly as the additional heat melts permafrost, releasing not only trapped carbon, but also methane, which is 30 times more potent a greenhouse gas than CO2! It is increasing as polar ice, which reflects 90% of the sunlight striking it back into space is replaced by open water, which retains 90% of the energy of the sunlight striking it. The result already is the progressive destabilization of the planet's atmosphere resulting in floods, droughts, firestorms, rising seas, super-storms, such as Sandy, and more.
Projecting this into the future leads to the abandonment of all coastal cities, the collapse of agriculture, and inevitably, the collapse of human civilization into flaming ruins. All in this century. It is unlikely that the population of Earth at the end of this century will exceed 500 million, simply because that will likely be all of the carrying capacity the devastated planet will have left for humanity. It is conceivable that the human population then, could be ZERO under certain dire circumstances.
Yet, absolutely nothing is being done to prevent this rapidly unfolding Apocalypse. The reason is very simple: The economic elites who now own the American government, and who dominate globally, profit immensely from business as usual. Warnings of the consequences of global warming are perceived as dire threats to their continued profiteering. And so their media diverts our attention by mainly reporting the issue as if it is a faux "controversy." And we move inevitably towards utter doom.
All of this has come about as a direct, inevitable, wholly foreseeable, consequence of our elite's embrace of the insidious doctrine of neoliberalism. Until and unless this doctrine is erased from existence, we are all doomed--even the greedy elites who have hijacked America and most of the planet. To remove neoliberalism, the power of these elites must be totally taken away, decisively, and for all time. Time is short, the situation is desperate. Immediate action is required. We need a REVOLUTION. Revolution is needed in the USA, North America, and the world. It is needed NOW.
Are you willing to die so that these greedy elites can get even wealthier? Not just your life, but the life of all humans, both alive now, and in all generations to be hang in the balance. On the other side of the balance is the insatiable greed of one-one-thousandth of the human population. It's them or us. A new world, a sustainable human civilization which can endure for ages await us if we act. Doom awaits us if we do not. Choose.
