Note: The Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium (WLIC) is a non-profit organization that is currently contracted to implement the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) for Wisconsin's Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection (DATCP).

Mike Bishop is a former president of Infigen, a company in DeForest, WI that clones cows. There's a Mike Bishop quote on the Internet that says cloned cow milk is delicious. Infigen is the sister company of ABSGlobal that's now part of Genus, the largest genetics company in the world. Greenpeace Germany discovered that the large genetics companies (including Monsanto) are trying to patent entire animals. See page 25.

Mike Bishop is also an RFID specialist and his PowerPoint presentations are online. The slides do not have any information about animal health.

Most of the DATCP meeting time was taken up with speeches from DATCP officials, legislators, WLIC board members and other officials such as the Wisconsin Vet and an attorney who began his speech by saying "I don't know anything about individual animal ID."

The Vet mentioned avian flu. Every farmer in the country should read Joseph Mercola's book The Great Bird Flu Hoax. It explains the agenda behind the bird flu and how it's being used to put small farmers out of business.

There's a DATCP meeting tomorrow (4/3/07) and the public will not be allowed to speak. A few representatives have asked for questions.

The NAIS bill was passed in the Wisconsin senate on a "voice" vote that is a majority-vote system that can potentially be abused. I'd like to know more details about the Senate vote(theoretically, a vote could be taken with 4 people present at 2:00 in the morning).

I wrote 28 new questions for DATCP (I could probably write 100!!).

Here's my list (Wisconsin leaders please forward these to your representatives):

1. What are the "value-added" opportunities mentioned in the WLIC pilot project (www.wiig.org) that included DNA samples from 2,358 animals?

From the WLIC site: (Overview) Minnesota DHIA, Valley Ag Software, and the University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine are currently conducting a dairy project on nine Wisconsin dairies utilizing RFID technology. This project will be exploring potential value-added opportunities for use of cattle RFID.

2. Why are DNA samples being collected in pilot projects just asthe animal breeding industry has changed its name to "livestock genetics" and the world's largest genetics companies have filed over 5,000 patent applications for ENTIRE animals? Click here or here.

3. Why does DATCP Secretary Rod Nilsestuen say that the Premises ID is not related to individual animal ID and RFID chips when the WLIC Web site describes RFID chips as a "next step?"

4. Has Secretary Rod Nilsestuen read the attached document that is available on the WLIC Web site? (See the attached document: WHAT IS THE WISCONSIN LIVESTOCK IDENTIFICATION CONSORTIUM (WLIC)?)

4. Why did the Wisconsin state veterinarian mention "Avian Flu" at the DATCP meeting on Wednesday when:

*  Vancouver's chief medical officer, Dr. John Bladderwick, laughs at the hype surrounding avian flu.

Met libertarian and conservative farmers and learned an incredible amount about farming and nature and science, as well as about government violations against them and against us all. The other side of the fence is nothing like what we've been (more...)
