Therefore, America carries a definite limit to the number of people that it can water, feed and house within the parameters of the land. By following such a 21st century vision and strategic plan, we assure future generations a viable and sustainable living experience in America.
Let’s make America the first nation to institute an “American Sustainable Population Policy”; “American Carrying Capacity Policy”; “American Water Usage Policy” and “American Environmental Impact Policy.”
While emotional and political arguments whirl about such a vision, common sense and practicality must prevail. In the end, if we fail to plan, we plan to fail. Ultimately, nature becomes the population arbiter. As Henry Kendell said, “We can bring about population stability gracefully or nature will do it brutally.”
American citizens carry a great opportunity and responsibility on their shoulders in 2008 and the coming years. Will they take it or rebuke it?
I encourage each citizen to engage. Everything you do, counts! Everything you don’t do, counts even more.
