Trust me, Limbaugh, Beck, Malkin, and Fox News are not simply cutting corners. They shredded the corners long ago and now seem determined to tear up the entire fabric of public discourse.
In the end, it turned out the India trip lies were too much even for the mainstream press to bear and several news outlets took the initiative to plainly debunk the $2 billion canard. And yes, it's good that the press fact-checked the bogus claim. What's disturbing though, is that some journalists still think it's odd and strange that the people who pushed the India trip concoction actually, y'know, pushed the India trip concoction.
If the press has learned nothing else since Inauguration Day, it should have realized this: The president's right-wing media haters will stop at nothing to destroy him. And of course that means trafficking as many lies and as much misinformation as possible. That's what this GOP Noise Machine was built for.
