Peg and I and a someone I can not name got very close before Peg had to die. The conversation goes on today. Two things are happening. We hate patriarchal society more and more with each conversation and also see our own pain as a cleansing and a karmic thing that had to happen. We feel more and more free all the time. We still have issues with anger but a sense of humor is deepening at the same time.
All that was dark can come into the light and will. All that was bad will be transmuted. And this species human will probably save itself before all is lost. What remains of it at that point.
Part Two : To Televise or Not to Televise?
On Facebook I just read an argument by Morgan Freeman that televising all the mayhem of this last shooting in Connecticut is glamorizing violence and encouraging copy cat killings. I agree to a degree but I mostly disagree. I have an alternate opinion.
We live in a society of isms. We have nationalism, which does not allow for a planetary view, religious fanaticism that does not recognize that different people see different aspects of God, sexism that does not see that the sexes are two sides of the same coin, which are the two components of life, we have as well agism, racism, you name it. And all these isms ostracize almost everybody and all you have left that is empowered are a handful of extremely powerful and psychotic warmongering white males in positions of great power. We are all getting intensely sick of it.
When young white males lose it and become mass killers suddenly we see before ourselves on TV what kind of society we really are. When the movies first glorified this whole thing with cowboys and Indians we stood back and could not stand it and changed the way we make movies to a large extent. Putting this whole thing on TV may encourage a certain amount of copy cat stuff I agree. But we do still need to look at this thing.
Yes we need to see good things on the news as well as bad things. But we better stay tuned to what this sexist male white-is-right society is doing to itself and the rest of the planet on all levels of mineral plant animal and human levels. We are culturally white-is-right death dealers.
I just saw Robinson Crusoe on TV with Pierce Brosnan. The message was plain in that movie that our white-is-right society has been this way as far back as the 1700s when Robinson Crusoe was written. White society is the cleverest race ever to evolve and the dumbest in social/emotional/spiritual IQ. I think we had better start intermarrying with other races. They tend to be a bit more laid back. And we had better change our cultural ethics while there is still some planet left.
If you think Adam Lanza is something out of the ordinary then you need to look more comprehensively at the whole picture of this dying patriarchal cultural ethic. People like Adam Lanza are my whole family. There were originally ten of us. I am glad to say that half of us are now graduated past this life experience. It is not a horror to die. It is a horror to be a person infused with a cultural ethic that alienates all but a few on a planet rich with a multitude of forms of life as varied as can be. God loves and creates diversity. But the western world hates it. It loves the few over the many with license to kill. Governmental religious corporate license to kill. We do it constantly in this western world and we have a media that makes it invisible. We other it and let the rest of the world suffer and our news stories dress it up if it even gets through. We do not know a fraction of what our culture does abroad every day in numbers that make the Adam Lanza killing look like nothing. Occasionally it happens right under our noses and we think it is out of the ordinary. As a person who first grew up in a very dysfunctional family of many suicides and then lived on the street as a street person and later came to be a writer on opednews.com who has read that this whole thing is planet-wide ... this whole thing seems very ordinary.
