The answer, clearly, is Democrats, but that hardly means merely holding our noses and voting for them will give us back our government. If progressives vote for Democrats, we should make them fully aware we intend thereafter to organize peaceful street revolt against their governance--a revolt tied to their long-standing contempt for progressives demands. And that we intend to judge them--with electoral consequences--by how they respond to our revolt. Lily-livered silence while Obama's goon squads bludgeon legitimate peaceful protesters--Democrats' modus operandi during Occupy--must not go unnoticed. Or unpunished.
Since the intended revolt is decidedly not for revolt's sake--the last thing we want is to be juvenile "rebels without a cause"--it should be in the name of desirable progressive changes within our political system. So much so, that I'd like to see it take place in support of the one functioning politician within that system who fully embodies progressives' values, and who has given us the great hope of running for president--preferably as a Democrat in 2016. Namely, Bernie Sanders; and I'd love to see a peaceful street revolt--uniting all the various strands of progressive discontent--called "Occupy for Bernie."
Much more about Occupy for Bernie in my next OpEdNews article.
