One such hardship came to those who suffered from the devastation brought on by Hurricane Katrina. According to FactCheck.org when it came to voting for independent investigations after Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast, they reported, “McCain actually voted twice, in 2005 and 2006, to defeat a Democratic amendment that would have set up an independent commission along the lines of the 9/11 Commission.” It is time for Clinton supporters to stand down, especially when so many were hurt by this devastating storm. It is time for Clinton supporters to back the Obama/Biden ticket.
No, this is not just party politics taking place, but where many Americans across this country are just trying to get by as they hunker down in survival mode.
To those Clinton supporters, I would pose this one question after viewing this YouTube.com feed of McCain jokingly singing he would bomb Iran: are you trying to help a candidate who would jokingly sing of bombing another country, thereby starting another war? Haven’t we had enough joking when it comes to the taking of innocent lives as Bush jokingly aired this feed where he was looking for weapons of mass destruction in the Oval Office?
While in the past, I have been critical of Senator Obama, this is one move coming from him in which I applaud his choice in Senator Biden as his running mate. Obama is putting this country first in choosing Biden instead of bowing to pressure coming from others to choose Clinton as his vice presidential running mate.
In writing this editorial, I am reminded of the famous quote, “You are either part of the solution or part of the problem,” and the biggest problem for Americans will be if Senator McCain becomes President McCain. To those eighteen million who voted for Clinton in the primaries, the time has come for all to say, I would rather be part of the solution.
