Impeach Bush for High Crimes says Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio)

Our national nightmare, Bush's Iraqi quagmire and terror storm continues to drain away the nation's wealth by millions of dollars a minute, Nancy Pelosi and the congressional leadership now get to decide whether the perpetrators of high crimes, the bullies and liars, get to push us into another war of deception or worse.

Promises to keep impeachment off the proverbial table must be weighed against the promises made not to attack again. In my opinion, impeachment must be strengthened by active consideration in the Judiciary Committee like a defensive shield held in a posture of readiness should a regrettable lapse occur. I am halfway pleased that Ms. Pelosi will allow impeachment out of the Judiciary cold storage. Put the resolutions on the front burner and see if the media start paying attention. It does not have to be put on the table to gain strength as a credible threat, just in case the Bush Administration feels it can get away with dirty tricks before leaving office. Let the impeachment proceedings simmer and boil in committee hearings until outrage and disgust boil over in critical mass to make sure that it is ready for use in case of neo-con shenanigans. Accidents and nasty little surprises, like lies that start wars, don't happen without some cause.
