Ok, maybe you are not a Trekkie. Then I have Hermann Goering for you. Remember that fat Nazi Reichs- marshal who tool poison in Nuremburg? In 1937 he was in full power and once talked with a French ambassador. He pointed at the map of Czechoslovakia and said,

A funny form. Big sausage. Turd sandwich. 50 million dead in WWII, nuclear bombing of Japan, millions dead in Vietnam, a million in Iraq, thousands now in Libya ( we are only warming up) and it is still a matter of a turd sandwich for some. I have news for you, folks- it is a blood sausage. And it hangs from our mouth.
It hangs out for all to see because we allow that to happen. Because we discuss ourselves and our attitudes instead of screaming bloody murder. Because the Incredible Jumping Prez had filled us all with lead like that Mark Twain's frog. Because deep down we don't care for those far-away brownish Moslems the same way the French did not care for some Czechs and that's why they let Goering devour lots of sausages on the map before he went for foi -gras and German armies marched through Paris. We don't care.
People, how many lives does the Humankind have to sacrifice for the simple decency? And will you please remember the prophecy of Bertold Brecht:
