There's only one small problem with that idea. No other US president in the history of the modern Olympics has attended those games when they were held in another country. In fact, on five separate occasions the US president didn't even attend the games when they were held IN the United States. Now, all of a sudden, it would be deemed an insult to the Chinese government and its people if he didn't go. This one event has demonstrated how low this administration is willing to go to support its new owner. The once mighty "defender of freedom and free markets"- was reduced to the role of cheerleader for the American athletes. The once revered post of the "leader of the free world,"- has been shrunk to the level of a well-known supporter for his country. Gone are the days where the US president dictated new policy around the world. Gone are the days where the US president would stand up and criticize the dictators of the world. And gone are the days when American citizens can freely vote for the candidate of their choice and know that their vote will be counted.
Without even asking the question, "Who's your daddy?"- President Bush has made it abundantly clear that groveling and begging for help from other countries will be the new strategic policy for the "decider,"- as well as all those who follow.
