The Senate is almost certain to be taking up some sort of energy and/or climate legislation when it returns from their July 4th recess. There are numerous proposals out there right now, and almost all of them are simply unacceptable Christmas-in-July gifts to the nuclear power industry. On the front page of NIRS' website you'll find recent analyses from PSR and Friends of the Earth of the massive nuclear giveaways and deregulation contained in the draft Kerry-Lieberman American Power Act, which may serve as the base of Senate legislation.
We will provide you with more information on Senate activities--and give you a new chance to take action (and we will all need to be taking as much action as possible!) in a week or so.
Thanks for all you do,
