Our "civilization", hubris
and touting pollution as progress
has made the Earth sick - literally.
And as George Carlin once said
she's just going to shake us off
like a particularly bad case of fleas.
She's going to send us back,
perhaps, to the Archeozoic Era
when she was quite a lot hotter
and loaded with carbon
and we were just pond scum
on the surface of the water.
And that ought to bring an end to
our rape, plunder, hubris and slaughter.
By 2007 there were enough nuclear weapons on Earth
to destroy 400,000 Hiroshimas.
