Cheney speech came while accepting an award from a conservative national security group, the Center for Security Policy. Why did the US media feel compelled to cover this? Just let him make his speech and let the few right-wing extremists applaud him, and let it end there.

These remarks are from the current administration criticizing Cheney's administration as the article continues "Cheney disputed remarks by White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel that the Bush administration had been adrift concerning the war in Afghanistan and that the Obama administration had to start from the beginning to develop a strategy for the 8-year-old war."

Cheney is lying about the success in Iraq as well as the benefits of sending more US troops to die in a lost cause in Afghanistan. The article "US diplomat resigns over Afghan war" at

http://rawstory.com/news/afp/US_diplomat_resigns_over_Afghan_war_10272009.html

has a well educated and trained professional refuting any argument that wasting more US soldiers lives in Afghanistan is beneficial as it states "A State Department diplomat disillusioned with US involvement in Afghanistan has become the first US official known to resign in protest over the eight-year war...Matthew Hoh, 36, was the senior State Department official in Afghanistan's Zabul province, a hotbed for Taliban militants, until he resigned last month."

Hoh was a valuable US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan. Richard Holbrooke met with Hoh and initially talked him out of resigning by telling him, "that by remaining in government, he could more effectively change US policy in Afghanistan."

Hoh saw through the old standard tact that Holbrooke used on him and resigned again. Hoh's reasons "I have lost understanding of, and confidence in, the strategic purposes of the United States' presence in Afghanistan.
I have doubts and reservations about our current strategy and planned future strategy, but my resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end."

What can be the motivation for Cheney to attack the current administration with blatant lies? When you accept the fact that W. had his military brainwashing us, the depth of the GOP's depravity becomes easier to comprehend and provides the rationale for Cheney's attempt at propaganda. The article "Pentagon used psychological operation on US public, documents show" at
http://rawstory.com/2009/10/bryan-whitman-2/

plainly documents that as the article states "A months-long review of documents and interviews with Pentagon personnel has revealed that the Bush Administration's military analyst program -- aimed at selling the Iraq war to the American people -- operated through a secretive collaboration between the Defense Department's press and community relations offices."

What excuse can 43's administration have as the article states "The US Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command fact sheet, which states that PSYOPS should be directed "to foreign audiences."

They had practice with as the article states "Buried in an obscure April 2008 online New York Times Q&A with readers, reporter David Barstow disclosed:
"As Lawrence Di Rita, a former senior Pentagon official told me, they viewed [the military analyst program] as the "mirror image' of the Pentagon program for embedding reporters with units in the field. In this case, the military analysts were in effect "embedded' with the senior leadership through a steady mix of private briefings, trips and talking points". But veteran foreign correspondent Reese Erlich told Raw Story that the embed program was "a stroke of genius by the Bush administration" because it gave the appearance of transparency while "in reality, they were manipulating the news."

When Cheney is rambling about dithering realize that he brainwashed the citizens he was supposed to protect.

Realize that he has no concern about whether he is being truthful or not.

The article "Cheney falsely accuses Obama of "libel' against CIA over torture" at

http://rawstory.com/2009/10/cheney-falsely-accuses-obama-libel-cia-torture/

states "Torture is not torture, according to former Vice President Dick Cheney, and to refer it to as such should be considered libelous. Even if it doesn't actually qualify as libel.
The Washington Times' Amanda Carpenter reports, "Maintaining his stature as one of the most forceful defenders of the Bush Administration's defense policies former Vice President Dick Cheney accused President Obama of committing 'libel' against CIA interrogators on Wednesday" during a speech at the Center for Security Policy.
"In the speech, Mr. Cheney charged that President Obama has 'filled the air with vague and useless platitude' when talking about torture and by calling enhanced interrogation techniques 'torture" he has committed 'libel' against CIA
interrogators whom Mr. Cheney described as 'dedicated professionals who acted honorably and well, in our country's name and in our country's cause,'" Carpenter adds."
