It is now being alleged by knowledgeable operatives in the pipeline of events that Cheney, in an effort to obtain information validating his falsehood of a Saddam Hussein link to Osama bin Laden, instructed that a key detainee be waterboarded to obtain the desired deceitful result.
Now Cheney, who accomplished his nefarious deeds as vice president from an undisclosed bunker, has suddenly emerged in public and demands release of documents relating to waterboarding and other blatant violations of international law regarding interrogation.
This is one time when Cheney should have his way. The records, including photos, must be released in the interest of justice irrespective of whether or not a waffling President Barack Obama likes it. Cheney along with fellow architects of the web of Iraq War deceit must be compelled to answer questions under oath.
Obama's argument of "we must move on" is as fallacious as Nixon seeking to halt an ongoing Watergate inquiry in the interest of moving forward and tackling what he better than three decades ago called "the people's business."
