More than 650 business leaders attended the gala. A portion of each ticket sold for the gala was contributed to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit, nonpartisan effort founded by Nobel Laureate and former Vice President, Al Gore. The Alliance seeks to halt global warming by educating people about the urgency of the climate crisis and its solutions.
More than 2,600 entries were submitted for The 2008 American Business Awards. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges and Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie winners from among the finalists. Finalists were selected by business professionals nationwide during two months of preliminary judging.
