Tell A Friend

By Yvona Fast (about the author)     Page 2 of 2 page(s)

opednews.com     Permalink

We need change. Our culture runs on greed and irresponsibility. Corporations seek gain and profit at any cost, at the expense of innocent citizens. What has happened to values like integrity, truthfulness, hard work, kindness and frugality? What about living within our means, rather than on borrowed money?

I'm not an economist. Like most Americans I watch the huge mess on TV. I recognize who is to blame but I have no idea how to fix it. Yet I believe those who caused the problem should bear the brunt of the cost, not innocent citizens. Transparency, accountability, and oversight are essential before we exorbitantly increase our national debt yet again.  We need to bring change that will benefit ordinary citizens and their communities, not just greedy corporations.
