The media have embraced the controversial over truth at the expense of the people's inherent right to know. I think the media has played the most significant role in the ritual killing of the great American dream. The fourth estate was supposed to be our educators, informers and the peoples firewall against corporate and political excesses but chose the lucrative advertisement dollar of the provocateurs over defending our democracy and the people's right to truthful, informative information.
The media has lied to the American people through deliberate obfuscation and omissions. The present situation in our national body politics is horrific and an example of coordinated or should I say Atwaterish hatred toward the very concept of "content of a President's character or the color of his skin".
The national media has under reported or not reported at all, the serious nature of the blatant racism that walks the halls of our congress. The Republican leadership refuses to show the respect due President Obama as the chosen leader of our republic.
The most egregious omission by the fourth estate has been to give cover to Tea Party Republicans who have decided to make Americans suffer for their choice in the 2008 election. Not since 1861 have members of congress openly committed acts of sedition against our country with very little media coverage of the southern strategy at play on the floor of the House of Representatives. The main stream media has chosen sides in what I believe to be one of this nations darkest hour. Who would have thought that we would have another civil war against hatred and intolerance and our media would serve only a perfunctory roll in reporting these crimes against human decency and the American people. ã ‚¬ ‚¬
