She opposes abortion, stem-cell research, gay rights, sex education except abstinence (which really works, right, Governor?), immigration, taxes, welfare, aid to distressed cities and people, pork-barrel spending in your state, and government itself.
So what if she doesn’t know what the “Bush Doctrine” is? Bush himself probably doesn’t know what it is; it keeps changing.
Her academic record at six colleges was as mediocre as the current president’s at two, but as Alaska’s governor she is titular head of the state’s National Guard. That qualifies her to be Commander-in-Chief of all US forces.
She has traveled only once outside North America, but her state nestles up against two foreign countries. That gives her all the foreign affairs expertise she needs. (Foreign policy, like the flu, is catching if you get close enough to it. Or maybe she stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.)
Sound like anyone we know?
So now the Republican ticket really is McCain-Bush. We don’t need to allude to “McBush” anymore. John McCain has done us one better: he has made it real.
