I invite all of you to participate in an experiment of the Imagination. What will happen if many people focus on planting a Garden in the Imaginal world over a period of time? What kind of connections will be made? Will this kind of connection give rise to mental telepathy or other forms of psychic knowing? It will be an exercise in building your imaginative muscles. It takes repetition and focus.

So why create something in the Imaginal world? Henry Corbin called this plane the "mundus imaginalis' which is just "as real as the world of the senses and of the intellect. This world requires its own faculty of perception, namely imaginative power."

The Imagination has been stunted, both by the insistence that it's 'only fantasy' and by our modern media.

Imagination also plays an important part in your subjective life, as it gives mobility to your beliefs. It is one of the motivating agencies that helps transform your beliefs into physical experience. It is vital therefore that you understand the interrelationship between ideas and imagination. In order to dislodge unsuitable beliefs and establish new ones, you must learn to use your imagination to move concepts in and out of your mind. The proper use of imagination can then propel ideas in the directions you desire.

Jane Roberts, Seth

I do not know what bounds may be placed on the power of the imagination. It can heal the body, reveal the secrets of divine truth, transform the personality, incarnate God, and open up worlds of infinite diversity and potential.

Jeffrey Raff, Jung and the Alchemical

The imagination is, therefore, not a source of deception and delusion, but a capacity to sense what you do not know, to intuit what you cannot understand, to be more than you can know.

William Irwin Thompson, Gaia,

A Way
of Knowing

Our Creative Imagination is an organ of perception that each of us can use to energetically unite in a common purpose. If we can do it energetically, we can manifest it in the world. Whether you think of this experiment as a spiritual virtual reality exercise, creating an Aquarian Mindfield or engaging in a group magical visualization, please consider joining us.

This is an experiment I don't know how it will turn out. We already know that group meditations work. This experiment requires a sustained effort on our parts. We're going to imagine planting and then growing a garden, only we're all going to the same Garden.

After the initial meditation on New Moon Day, we have to go back daily and keep imagining our private gardens until we build them into a solid thought-form in the Imaginal world. That means employing our senses in the vision if possible. Since all our gardens will be part of a communal World Garden, we should be able to share our energies and eventually maybe even communicate with each other. The time you spend meditating and recording your visions will tell you how well your garden is doing.

So if you're IN, please go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/worldgarden/ where you'll find instructions on the message board on how to participate, a meditation to use to get to the Garden and why I established this Yahoo group to facilitate sharing on this "plane'.

If anyone is interested in helping us bless and ward the World Garden on Friday, February 12th, before the New Moon, please look for the post titled: Blessing the Garden.

The thing I love about this experiment is that each of us gets to bring our own visions for the future into a shared space, and it will be the combination of many people's visions that creates the possibility of a new world vision, not an imposed vision.

Cathy Pagano is the author of a new book, "Wisdom's Daughters: How Women Can Change the World". Cathy trained at the C. G. Jung Institut-Zurich in dream interpretation, then got her M.A. in Counseling Psychology in Feminine Spirituality, and along the way became a certified Life Coach. As an astrologer and storyteller, she weaves the Cosmic Stories written in the stars and from The Bard's Grove, comments on emerging archetypal themes in movies. Cathy works with the tools of the imagination - dreams, alchemy, myths, astrology, symbolic language, storytelling, ritual - to awaken the Soul's wisdom.

I believe that Americans are called to a higher consciousness at this point in our history. We are called on to live up to our ideals and create the country our forefathers imagined. Inner consciousness needs to be acted upon for social justice.

Cathy believes that our writers and artists must take up our responsibility to create art that inspires, teaches and heals our humanity.

Cathy writes about political, psychological/spiritual, and cultural issues.
