And, Richard, people such as Dick Cheney, who you say claim to know something about the utility, not to mention the morality of torture, are the last ones we need to hear from. Who we need to hear from are people who know something about the law, the law that says that torture is against the law. Again, the utility of it has nothing to do with it being illegal. For Cohen to conflate people such as Cheney in the same sentence with morality is to completely pervert any meaning of morality to the point where it is meaningless, as Cheney has so ably demonstrated that he has no idea what morality is. Richard, here is the thrust of this article, in case you haven't gotten the point by now: No matter what Dick Cheney says, torture is against the law. To promote a guy like Cheney who's advocating violating the law, while maybe not illegal, is at least despicable, and deserving of punishment. Taking apart your article and using it for another purpose is your punishment. How's that proctoscope feel there, Richard?
