Choreographer Zhao Limin, said, "The dance is full of artistic beauty, they made truly extraordinary efforts to achieve their goal."

The haunting music for Hand in Hand was composed by San Bao, and is originally from the popular TV show in China, Qian Shou. He also composed the music for the film, The Road Home, directed by Zhang Yimou.

The two dancers integrate the use of Zhai Xiaowei's crutch into the performance in artistic and poignant ways, beautifully exemplifying the concept that one may not only survive difficulties, but joyfully thrive through them.

The duo won not only the 2007 CCTV Silver Medal, but the hearts of that audience and the worldwide internet audience that continues to view their mesmerizing performance.
