He proposes how we can end war, including launching a major campaign:
The International Day of Peace, September 21, 2014, and surrounding days will witness a major event, with events all over the world, launching this movement. We can help you plan a new event, or help you make this movement part of an already existing event marking the International Day of Peace .
Even though September is still eight months away, the campaign is already generating followers and leaders. It is an idea whose time has come. Abolition of war is a vision that we can manifest now. Folks are lining up to sign on, even asking how they can donate money and time.
Are you skeptical, still thinking that abolition of war is a crazy, pie-in-the-sky idea? Or are you ready to become today's abolitionist? Either way, David has a way of breaking through our established cultural memes about the necessity and glory of war. In our ENVISION THIS interview with him, we were inspired to sign the Declaration of Peace.
Only when WE stand up as abolitionists against that which we see as inhumane do such leaders succeed. It is the mission whose time has come, not the nominal "leader" that must guide us. Violence must become so anathema in our hearts that we refuse to tolerate it in our world. Our mindset must change; our heartset must be stronger than our conditioned tolerance for atrocity.
Are we ready for this? We must be or peace on earth is doomed to perish. We are playing with way too much fire-power. Most of the visionaries in the lead of this article and many of their coworkers gave their lives to their mission. In today's perilous world, can we give at least our time, voice, and resources? Yes, we can.
